It's good to know that Nvidia is looking into this issue. Please keep up your good work.

So when I play VDPAU on my 9500GT 256 DDR3 card with COMPIZ I have this same error, but when I open additional X screen without any window manager then it plays fine. So GNOME/COMPIZ screen goes to system memory or it stays in gfx memory a this play time?

btw: my Nautilus play script if someone want's to play with

OpenGL (and hence compiz) does/can use sysmem instead of vidmem in some situations. The interaction you're seeing is a little odd, but not impossible.

It'd be useful if you could follow the instructions in the debug sticky, and post your nvidia-setting rc file, so we can get some idea what's going on.

dk75,

For vdpau.log, you didn't:

export VDPAU_TRACE=1
export VDPAU_NVIDIA_DEBUG=3

before running MPlayer.

I guess you must have run MPlayer via some shell script that recreated the environment variables from scratch and hence removed those settings then, or not run MPlayer from the shell where you set the variabese, or something like that.

no, first time I've exported NVIDIA_TRACE and NVIDIA_DEBUG - my wrong doing.
But second time I've exported right and I've uploaded right log to the post above ( #712 )

hello guys
sounds like 8400GS(G98) is doesnt available in ukraine anymore, 1 month research gave me nothing. Could anyone suggest me the card 9xxx or 2xx generation which provide full support(h264, vc1, wmv3) for VDPAU?

OK. It seems that normal pipe don't capture all output from both mplayer and vdpau so I made another run with new command:
Code:
 export VDPAU_TRACE=1; export VDPAU_NVIDIA_DEBUG=3; mplayer-vdpau -vc ffh264vdpau -vo vdpau -noass -vf-clr -fs -fontconfig -overlapsub -subfont-autoscale 1 -ffactor 10 Discovery.Atlas-Brazil.Revealed.m2ts 2>&1 | tee ~/Desktop/vdpau.log

and there's the log from it:
Code:
