I just ordered my 3rd EVGA GTX 280 FTW Edition Graphics card for my Tri-SLI setup. Now with using an HP BlackBird 002 I must be very selective on buying the right power supply unit. Here's the layout of my current 1100 Watt PSU from Top Power. It's powering only two of the 280's right now. I can't see how I would even be able to use this power supply for a Tri-SLI setup. With the new power supply...I want each cable to be detachable like my current one and would prefer 12-volt rails to each molex vs having them share the whole 12-volts. So what power supply out there would some of you recommend?

Doesn't seem to be any certified PSU:s that fill the requirements you've set, so I'd say try it with the one you've got now and upgrade only if needed - 1,1Kw should be enough(most certified PSUs are 1200w). ![]()

Nope, just want a good PSU. From the picture listed, it looks like I would need to buy a new power supply since I don't have the extra pin-set to run to the the third card.

I've have one, it's been very solid so far. As far as tri-SLI, I'm sure it's fine from a quality stand point but you might need to get another 6+8pin PCI-E connector. Mine only came with two, but fortunately I had one left over from my old Silverstone 850w.

Yes, I have the exact same PSU. The unit I have came with two 6+8 pin connectors, the 8 pin part of those connectors are really 6+2 pin so they can be used for other tri-SLI systems that require six 6 pin connectors. Silverstone is referring to those systems when they state it is tri-SLI certified, idk why they say there are three 8 pin connectors, one of the reviews they advertise shows the same number as mine: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...-review-5.html
