I can confirm that on my PCI 8400 GS spatial_temporal works well on SD channels

but on 1080i I couldn't run temporal deinterlacing - I have jerky audio and video. I tried to disable CHROMA filter, but without luck.

have you any ideas ?

@Sky777: Do you inverse telecine enabled? - 8400GS is not capable of doing this on 1080i content.

no, inverse telecine disabled in my xine config

That card isn't fast enough, even what you quoted showed so: 24 fps max when doing Temporal Spatial.
It must do > 60fps (or 50 in PAL countries).

So don't use temporal spatial (Advanced 2X in Myth) with a 8400gs... The best you can do is Temporal 2X on 1080i content

@jyavenard

you are speaking about of temporal spatial, but I spoke about of temporal. I'm wondering why the temporal doesn't work with my 8400 G98 PCI card

Are you sure you used the right deinterlacer?
AFAIK, Temporal 2X can be used on 1080i content with a 8400gs

what do you mean ? I tried to use spatial temporal and temporal deinterlacer.
Do they "right" deinterlacers ?

does "Temporal 2X" the same as just "temporal" ?
do you have PCI 8400 gs ?

I have one of these, but it is listed as G86.

Code:

MIXER TEMPORAL_SPATIAL (720x576 video to 1920x1080 display): 124 fields/s
I had some problems with 1080i

(see http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...=131913&page=2 )

now "almost" solved (some jerkiness remains, but the stream is definitely watchable).

I can do Temporal 2x with 1080i content in mythtv (from jyavenard repositories)

bye,
rob

additional information - half temporal spatial doesn't work correctly too with 1080i hdtv dvb-s2 channels

with bob and half spatial I don't have any problems

This does not even work with the PCI Express version of this card (that has bandwidth advantages), de-interlacing of 1080 content is its only limitation.
I remember reports that high-bitrate 1080 lead to frame-drops even with deint=2 (but cannot reproduce atm).

Which is a totally different card (they only share their name).

Yes, my G86 should perform worse than Sky777's G98, I'm quite surprised about his qvdpautest results appearing on par, or worse, compared to mine.
