Anyone else who is having this problem... try running your memory in single channel and let us know if that fixes it.
i'm having dual channel memory as well. 2x1Gb (laptop). unfortunately there is no bios option to disable dual channel.

Just installed 180.16, confirmed this problem is still remaining in 180.16.

When this problem is going to be fixed? I'm losing my patience. I can't use my Linux desktop due to this bug...

This is so annoying, i am stuck with the 177.82 driver because of this problem.
I would rather use the new 180drivers because besides this problem they work great for me, but i cant live with those random freezes.

Yes, the 180.16 driver took care of my artifacts as well.
Now if only powermizer controls were implemented, this driver would be perfect for me
Unfortunately I spoke too soon... The artifacts are still there, and usually show up when i scroll.

I've seen no corruption so far. It took a while (for me at least) to see the corruption on the last two beta drivers so I'm still not sure of anything.

A little offtopic: The title of this topic sucks... as far as we know not all of the 180 drivers have or will have this problem...

isn't this problem big enough to get some kind of response, comment or "help"?

i confirm that too : 2 GO ram in 4 slots in dual channel mode, the same xid issue, and no problem at all with older series driver.
with 180.xxx always randomly freeze preceeded by short white flash and the NVRM xid issue - texture corruption then locks...
it' s perhaps easy to say that all (how many !!!) these cards are bad, rather than "we can't make a good driver" OR they change my 2 years card (no more warranty) for free.
Disgusted...

I was getting such corruptions with OO under KDE and it turned out that
a particular gnome theme (Qt4) was the culprit. Probably other themes
have this problem. Suggested solution was:

export SAL_GTK_USE_PIXMAPPAINT=1

Same problem with 180.16. All of the 180.x betas to date have exhibited this problem on my system. It would be wonderful to get some feedback from someone at nvidia on this, at this point. If I'm going to take the time and put my system at risk beta testing these drivers for them, the least they could do is acknowledge that there may be a problem, and give us an indication on whether or not the problem is being solved. I've seen many threads on this issue, and they are largely being ignored. Or so it seems. I refer you to my earlier post for a bug report: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=124180
I'm not touching another 180.x beta until I get some indication from someone at nvidia that this problem has been confirmed and is being worked on. These hard crashes scare the bejesus out of me.
