Oh yeah, it definitely doesn't deserve a 10. I've put 2hours into it and while its great fun and has excellent production values, the game lacks the intangible "IT" factor. Its just disappointing that with the modern tech, they didn't add more RPG elements.

San Andreas did that very well and with GTA IV, you would expect something even more. But alas, guess not.

Hope so. Mods have been an important part of III, VC and SA's success.

They weren't trying to make it an RPG... that has nothing to do with what they could or could not do, it was not what they wanted to do.

I agree that it's not perfect, never deserved a score of 10, but games like GTA are not RPGs, they should never be considered RPGs, or even RPG like.

It a good action game, GTA SA biggest flaw was that they tried to make it to big, to much content but no substance.

Define reasonable?

Seems alot of people just over-estimate their machines these days

181.00 = NeKro Certified driver, thats better than WHQL

Uhh... they are missing 1680x1050 in some games. Thats gotta revoke the Certification!!

i got 1680x1050 working in Mass Effect, you have to run the configuration tool, set the resolution and start the game, it runs at correct res now.

I didn't say they should make it an RPG. I said it would be nice if it had RPG like elements a la San Andreas. As trivial as many people find them, they feel like a good addition to the game. Even if its just the feeling of getting more for your buck.

I agree but only if they make the RPG elements actually mean something and are obviously 'felt'. So far in playing GTA:SA I can't say I notice anything much with the Fat or Gym workouts or any other stats. <shrug> Needs to be more like Crackdown where RPG stuff is WAY obvious and noticeably beneficial.

When I first played it when it came out on xbox, I was pretty blown away by it, had a lot of great fun with it. Now looking back and after playing a bunch of new games this year, going back and playing GTA4 for PC, it has lost the wow factor.

Found some tweaks that pushed me up to 64.20 FPS.

- Disable Aero.
- Set max render frame ahead to 1 in NV CP.

Gained about 6 FPS from that. Game plays much smoother in Windows 7 / Vista now.

Wow... this gave me like a 10fps boost. Good call.

Weird too, since I thought Vista completely disabled the desktop when in a game.
