This is bull****. Waste of $50.

Is it possible it is not working because I am running it on Win7? I read other forums who say they got it to work.

This securcom stuff sucks. I'm just going to download a crack to get around it. ****ing idiots with there pirate prevention bull**** code. If anything, it's promoting me trying to crack it.

Because it just happens to be what I am working with right now. I understand what you're saying. Was just asking if you guys knew any way to get it to work, and if anyone has it working with Win7. Numerous threads on numerous other forums says its possible.

I uninstalled it and am re-installing now. The files being corrupt are a possibility so I am going to try it.

My new quad system gets here tomorrow so I will put Vista back on in the meantime and try to get it to work in that O/S.

If people got it to work on Win7 can't you read through their forum entries for the work-a-round?

I tried every theory I saw but in the end it ended up just being corruption I guess. Not sure but it works now.

OK, Got it working! I just uninstalled and re-installed the game and it worked. So, this is my first time playing GTA4 and I must say, they have taken it to a whole new level. Some things I noticed in the first 10 minutes of gameplay:

- When trying to figure out controls, when I pull up the control box in the menu, it shows an xbox control. It would be nice to have a keyboard one.

- As stated earlier, the realism is unreal. Maybe because it is my first time and the stuff will become more repititious as I see it, but we'll see.

-Driving the cars, etc. is much harder, BUT more natural. I love it.

-The small things. The way people act, the way cars move, the way cops react. EVERYTHING. It's the small things like this that make the game.

-Graphics. I am still on my AMD x2 4800 system so the FPS is dipping a bit here and there. I want to say (and hope) that it is a CPU bottleneck and that the quad will help it out a bit. Anyway, I have everything on medium and I think it looks great. It will suit for now.

-The subway - it announces the next stop, etc. Again, the realism factors in here.

So, so far haven't done much. Played for about 10 minutes and it was fun. Looking forward to the quad system tomorrow.

Anyone have any tips, etc. for playing? Nekro mentioned to disable the video editor. How do I go about that?
