yep, my shadows look the same. At first i thought it was a graphical glitch but i then jumped on the net and checked other people screens shots and they were the same. The developer have designed the shadows to look like that.

I tried defragged my HD, autodetect and changed all settings as it cant get over 10fps so my CPU seem cant handle GTA IV. I think I need to upgrade my PC next week but I dont know what to choose between Phenom 9950 Black Edition or Core i7 920!

Found some Phenom 9950 and Core i7 940 benchmarks from steampowered forum.

Seem Core i7 run GTAIV best on the highest settings at magic 60fps.

Wow... I knew dual-cores were having a very hard time, but 10fps on low settings? DAMN that's hardcore.

Not really in league with other reports on the net though... I have seen people having trouble with dual-cores, but not to the extent you are, and your vid card is awesome.

Holy sh*t I am surprised your 4400 X2 couldn't get playable FPS's. The game seems to be so CPU dependant, even more so than your video card?

Is this suprising, when the current consoles are almost purely CPU focused? The PS3 wasn't even going to have a GPU when first designed, and the one in it now sucks.

CPU limited? At first I believed this too but then I saw this benchmark- this guy upped his e8400 from 3.6Ghz to 4Ghz and gained a measly 1FPS:

3.6GHz

Average FPS: 44.31
Duration: 37.21 sec
CPU Usage: 92%
System memory usage: 55%
Video memory usage: 75%

Graphics Settings
Video Mode: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz)
Texture Quality: Medium
Render Quality: Highest
View Distance: 30
Detail Distance: 36

4.0GHz

Average FPS: 45.58
Duration: 37.18 sec
CPU Usage: 87%
System memory usage: 52%
Video memory usage: 75%

Graphics Settings
Video Mode: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz)
Texture Quality: Medium
Render Quality: Highest
View Distance: 30
Detail Distance: 36

I was gonna do the same thing but now I won't bother.

Some of these reports really don't mesh with the great performance I am getting.
