Will it be as good as GTX280 SLI?

Do you guys recommend buying two OC'd 260 C216's and SLI'ing those rather than buying this card?

I'd wait till we know more about these cards.

With the chips being 55nm now, they'll probably be better for multi-gpu setups because of lower heat and power consumption.

Something notable about the DVI arrangement on this board. It pretty much seems designed for running multiple monitor due to windows restrictions on core/per monitor. So multi monitor restrictions could/would be even less.

Shouldn't being the key word here. I'm still not jumping on this dual-GPU on a single card bandwagon until some guinea pigs give it a good testing. The previous cards were just entirely too crappy.

Just wondering but how so? That would be very interesting and enticing as multi monitor is one of SLI's biggest drawback.

I totally agree with you there. There is no need to rush into this one as reviewers should be able to give a good opinion.

If you looked at the difference between the 7950gx2 and the 9800gx2 a lot of gains has been made with getting programs to scale properly and at least getting SLI mode to work. The 9800gx2 can provide good frame rates, but still needs some tweaks to get the entire package working. If they can provide another solid improvement they might finally have a winner.

The main thing is Nvidia allows far more tweaking of the SLI than ATI does of the Crossfires. I found with 7 series SLI I could usually get good FPS after messing around for a bit.

I'm not entirely sure which exact limitation you are referring too. I have been able to run SLI Multi monitor for a bit now. But it has some limitations. a Design like this would reduce some of those limitations due to the way Windows handles monitor ID's.

I'm waiting on how this card performs in SLI. I was going to buy 2 GTX 280s, but I can wait a couple of weeks for a better one. As I hear GTX 260 & 280 do not have micro stutter problems, so I am hopeful that 295 SLI will not have micro stutters as well. If they do, then I will go for a pair of 285s. but then again, that all depends on what people say about 295.
