Question NVIDIA Geforce 9800 GTX TwinView -> HDTV problems (180.16)

Hi,
I have a Geforce 9800 GTX connected to a 1920x1200@60 LCD display and a 1920x1080@50 HDTV. Since version 173 or so i have had problems with the HDTV in that it will display "invalid image format". The timings and resolution reported by nvidia-settings are correct, and it works fine in windows/older driver.

The driver I am using now is 180.16 (for vdpau acceleration).
Have anyone seen this before/is this a known bug?
