Hi,
We are working on xine vdpau support. It does not depend on ffmpeg (still ffmpeg can be used for software decoding) It now can play (some) h264 and (most) mpeg2 streams. OSD and deinterlacing working. If you are interested in testing and/or joining the effort, you are welcome. The start point is #xine-vdpau on freenode. The channel's topic says all you need. If can't wait : svn://jusst.de/xine-vdpau (=>180.16 required) Christophe Thommeret. Julian Scheel. Last edited by crisalide; 12-18-08 at 08:55 AM. |

This is brilliant. I'm watching vdr with vdpau as we speak. It freezes often when switching channel but what a great first effort.

Hi. It compiled just fine for me, but I guess you don't need caca so try:
./autogen.sh --without-caca and compile again. /Magnus H |

Hi,
are there any plans to implement the VDPAU drivers in the xine-lib-1.2 tree ? Are there already patches for 1.2 ? Thanks Andreas |

Very nice! Cpu usage drops from 35% to 5% (at lower clockspeed) so it's very impressive! Works better for me than the mplayer implementation.

I'd love to be able to use this with miro. How's it coming? Will this make it into xine-lib?

Just wanted to let you guys know that of today xine-vdpau is capable of handling all relevant containers (mov,mkv,mp4,ts,pes) with vdpau. mpeg1,2 and h264 are fully supported.
We are thankful for test results! |

That's great news.
What's the status on VC-1? (You didn't mention it, so I thought I'd better ask )
