I clicked the "Restore" button in the nVidia control panel before running the test. Otherwise I usually have 8x anisotropic on and tripple buffer / vsync on.

Genius, How many pci-e x's does physx need?

The motion blur in the objects in this game is very nice , for example in the first enemy of the demo

meh.

All the effects in the demo are the same canned effects used in the physix SDK... exact same thing used in that crappy game nvidia used to demo physix... exact same thing that's in that mirror's edge demo.... the same cloth simulation, water interaction, glass break, etc. And the water simulation in this demo looked like ****. Some of the water spraying stuff was ok, but the water flowing looks blobby and gelatinous... more like goo than water. It seems to "stick" to surfaces and blob around them. A better use was the ripples in the water. Actually, I thought the most impressive effect in the whole tech demo was the zombie throwing barrels onto a suspended piece of cloth. I thought it was the most realistic, and it was a use of the cloth simulation I hadn't seen in another physix tech demo.

If this is the best they've got, I'm underwhelmed though. Some creativity in how to use this stuff is in order. How about using it to improve the flight model in a flight sim, something like that?

That's pretty cool. Why is it taking so long for this game to come out in the US?

He was released on Dec. 5 in Russia. Now it's a bad time, sales will be better in spring in the West and the game will be more polished. The game has enough dialogue - no interactive -, maybe even the publisher will put voices in English and other languages.
