Default Re: Fan control

I guess the issue is some memory corruption. Fun .. The failing line appears to be fclose(fp) in bios.c at line 925. I don't see what is wrong there. The file pointer must be valid else the function would have quit. I'll try to run valgrind perhaps I can find something that way.

Regarding those two NVGetAttribute calls I fixed those in cvs using a #ifdef NVCONTROL.

Thumbs up Re: Fan control

well, thanks for your help. I guessed the same but I don't have any problems with this ram so I'm gonna assume it's something to do with the installtion of Ubuntu I have. The last installation I had... bzip2 became an uninterruptible process and load average was at 2.2x all the time and I couldn't extract alot of archives, do updates etc etc

Going to install Ubuntu 8.10

I'll report back later

Thanks again for your time

I had some issues with valgrind but it didn't show anything bad, so I don't know what's wrong. Try again on 8.10.

I don't have a ubuntu system at hand to test I have no idea what is wrong. There must be some memory error I'm making but I have no idea where. NVClock works fine on my own cards and systems.

I'm gonna try Fedora 10.... I've always prefered fedora over ubuntu... but used ubuntu because it's more stable.... I'm not really impressed with 8.10 besides that it feels faster.

- sound delays are higher when in game through wine

there are some other things.... but I want to stay on topic here

Well holys*** it works in Fedora 10 ( including updates ) but failed for me in Ubuntu 8.04.1 ( including updates ) and Ubuntu 8.10 ( including updates )

I'm going to assume it's something to do with the compiler

I had to tell nvclock to force it "-f" and it says it's unable to shadow my bios. Other than that... it works so far

Does nvclock show bios info for you anyway? I'm rewriting the current bios code and that shadow line might be a bug.

Yes I am. I just found the bug and it has been fixed in cvs. Just run 'cvs update -PAd' and then recompile (perform a make clean first).
