Yeah right at was resolution? 800X600? 15-20fps is not a decent framerate btw and if your playing at a resolution of at least 1280X1024 and using a 2yr old GPU then I guarentee your frame rate is horrid under those settings.

I myself own a GTX 260 highly overclocked along with a Q6600@3.4ghz and I find using very high settings with the DX9 config at a resolution of 1680X1050 anything more than 2-4X Standered MSAA to drop the framerate down to much for my taste, much less 2X2 SSAA which is extremely demanding even for current single GPU solutions.

I cant help but LOL at what he is claiming, I remember how bad Crysis ran on my overclocked 8800GTX with any amount of AA.

No, at 1280x1024, but trust me.. it looks like 1600x1200 or even 1920x1200 with like 8 or 16xAA and transparency AA (TSAA) added as the vegetation and alphatextures gets resized/downsampled too... Runs about just over 20 fps and despite some call it lag, it's quite playable for me to be honest.

Looks absolutely phenomenal on my over 2 year old dusty GPU. Worth to note, i can't play too big maps with 2x2 SSAA as it's eating too much FPS lol...

Try to get more involved before you speak sir. Using 2x2 SSAA is LESS demanding than using high levels of regular hardware AA combined with a high resolution. SSAA actually isn't any type of normal AA, it works in a different way... It captures the scene in a very high resolution and then resizes/compresses it to the set decided res u play on. Like 1280x1024 will look like 1600x1200, maybe even 1920x1200 on a CRT... Compressed pixels equals sharper and more detailed and antialiased scene!

No actually over 20 fps, more likely around 22 - 23 witch is for me playable in non-battle situations, but everyone has it's own opinion of what is playable or not, am not saying it's good fps or smooth, am saying it's playable and not too bad. Btw, didn't you put me on ignorelist lol? I knew you'd change you mind

I am well aware of what 2X2 SSAA does and I am also well aware that it does indeed take more of a performance hit vs your typical 4XMSAA as I have tested both methods in a number of games. I have no idea how you can even say what you just said.

Internally the whole image is rendered with twice the resolution in both directions. This mode greatly improves overall image quality and reduces shimmering, but at A HEAVY PERFORMANCE HIT. IT CAN ONLY BE USED WITH OLDER GAMES OR WHEN USING HIGH END CARDS.
Crysis isnt a very old game and a 2yr old GPU isnt High End anymore.

Ok, good that you know how it works. But if you have no idea how i could say what i said then god help you.

I know what nHancer says about it's SSAA, but it can be used with new games aswell lol, even on the most demanding game out there. And btw... wtfbanned?

CoD4 is impressive in motion, but doesn't make for good screenies (IMO).
