Question nForce 610i (rev a2) framebuffer support in kernel 2.6.28

Anyone been able to successfully get framebuffer support (other than using the vesa drivers) for the GeForce 7050/nForce 610i (rev a2)?

I am putting together a mame system (which requires native framebuffer console drivers) with a motherboard that has the nForce 610i video card built in. I have been able to compile/and load the nvidiafb (CONFIG_FB_NVIDIA) as both a module and built into the kernel, but neither seem to work....

I keep getting the following in my dmesg:
nvidiafb 0000:00:10.0: PCI INT A -> Link[SGRU] -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22
nvidiafb: Device ID: 10de07e3
nvidiafb: unknown NV_ARCH

I have been able to successfully compile/load the drivers from the nvidia site (version 177.82), but that drivers seems to be only for X and the the linux framebuffer console driver (it doesn't allow me to put VGA=791 in the boot parameter).

Any ideas? Or is there really no support for the nForce 610i chipset in the nvidiafb drivers...
