It's everything in the Subject Line: When I switch consoles with ctrl-alt-f#, sometimes the X-server I switch away from, crashes. This also happens when I switch consoles using the kde/kdm-switching menu-entries, or if I use 'chvt'. So this doesn't seem to be related to broken keyhandling.
This bug is already there for quite a time. I had occurrences with other kernels as well as other driver versions, other Xorg versions AND other nvidia-graphics-cards. I report it with my current setup, which you will surely find in the nvidia-bug-report.log I have nvidia-agp activated with NVAGP=3 in my xorg.conf, which results in 'agp is disabled' in /proc/drivers/nvidia/agp/status. I did this, so I can use software-suspend. I produced a nvidia-bug-report.log file, but deleted the dmesg part. (Why is the script gathering that? There's personal info in that, that you should ask before gathering!). So I attach the Xorg.0.log.old, in which a segfault is registered and the nvidis-bug-report.log without the dmesg part. If you need something from it, please feel free to ask. Thanks! mokrates |

Ditto here with T61 NVS 140M using 180.18.
Many similar reports have been files so this is a true bug. (using Fedora 9). |
