Default Any config tweaks for KDE4 & 8800 GTS 512 ?

I'm using KDE 4.1.3 on a fully-updated x86_64 Fedora 10 system, with a 8800 GTS 512 card. My Xorg config file is pretty plain-vanilla; it was created by the NVidia installer.

With Desktop Effects enabled on KDE, I find that the performance leaves something to be desired. It's not terrible, so I don't think there is some unresolved bug either on NVidia's or on KDE's part. Just the occasional pause when doing some desktop activity. I see pretty much the same behavior with driver v177.82 and now with v180.22.

I'm wondering if better performance can be gotten by tweaking my config settings. Are there some options I can add/adjust to better match my hardware to my software environment?

hi, 8800 gtx 768 ram - driver OpenGL 3.0: 180.11.02 + opensuse 11.1 (x86)+ kde4.1 + no xorg tweaks = pretty stable (1-2 freeze per day) and almost flawless (apologize for my english !)
all the other (non opengl3 beta) are buggy (3 dead-freeze per hour - 45 per day !!! - so completely useless).
