I work with Nvidia and Ubuntu since version 5.04. Now I have an Athlon X2 with a mobo Asus M2NPV-MX, a GForce 6600 256MB and a monitor AOC 511Vwb widescreen, working fine with Ubuntu 8.10 64bits at 1280x800@50 and Nvidia driver 177 until last saturday january #3. After a few distro updates, the resolution falled to 1024x768, and don't have any options to change that. I think that the problem is related to "nvidia-auto-select". I appreciate any information about, 'cause I use this station to work.
