Looks like we're getting closer to having AGP support for the nforce2 chipset. According to the change log on http://linuxhq.com the 2.4.21-rc5-ac1 kernel has "NVIDIA AGP support", which I assume means "nforce AGP support". Has anybody had a chance to check it out?

I checked out the source of 2.4.21-rc5-ac1 and it contains the patch for nforce2 agpgart.
I didn't have the chance to test the patch, but ist should work... |

I managed to compile and install the kernel. I haven't tested it thoroughly, but so far everything seems to be working.

I also tested (2.4.21-rc5-ac2) but it doesn't work properly here.
If I use testgart then everything seems to be ok, but when I start X the windows are drawn only in parts. Also the system locks... I have to push reset to reboot. I also tried 2.5.70 and the nVidia kernel patch, but none of them worked for me. I always get the error thet is explained above. For some reasons the patch provided by nonolk works perfectly for me... My hardware: Asus A7N8X Deluxe nVidia GeForce 2 Ti (I know... I don't need agpgart...) |

To bad it isn't working for you. Are you using the nvidia graphics driver for your card? You might have some conflict, since the nvidia driver comes with its own agpgart. I have no problems running X and it seems to be stable so far. Also, I only have tried the XFree86 4.3 stock radeon driver. I haven't had a chance to try the ATI drivers yet.
