Default NVIDIA 9500 GT incompatibility

I've bought a NVIDIA 9500 GT, but when I tried to install it, the system didn't boot. It hanged at "Waiting for uevents to be processed".

When I take it out it boots perfectly.

What should I do?

You're on a wrong way. 9500gt is not incompatible, nvidia driver doesn't work very well, but works on 9500gt.

my 9500GT works fine - even more, never had any big problem other than common driver bugs ( like 185.18.14 makes CUDA Seti as a crap ).
  • Linux Debian Sid x86_64/ 3.2.0
  • Lenovo T61p
  • NVIDIA driver 295.33
  • Xorg/XServer 7.6+12/1.11.4
  • GNOME 3.2.2
