Oh, I think it's working. It's just hat I set it to scan the full system and started playing ME. Once I got to the menu I got really low FPS, so I remembered about AVG, alt-tabbed and stopped it. Later the FPS dropped again, so I had a look again and it started scanning again by the looks of things, I think I tried to turn it off again - exit the program completely from the tray on the right of the taskbar (by deafult) but when I clicked "exit" everything went to bits.

Tried ctraltdel to quit ME and AVG - but by that time the whole system was broke. I waited a bit, but the got frustrated and just held the power button on for 5-6 seconds whihc, y'know tuns the computer off. But really - f************************************ck...

- the use of that smily has never been so justified for me as in this case - how I felt at the time.... *takes a breath*

Since I just finished putting my i7 system together and got a stable overclock, I decided to give W7 x64 a roll.

Everything worked fine, however graphics performance seemed about 10-30% lower than Vista x64. I know people diss 3DMark Vantage, but I consider it a good indication of overall gfx performance (especially SLI performance), in W7 at one spot the fps was at 28 whereas in Vista before I formatted it was at 40. It couldn't get to the same fps as Vista at any stage during the tests, it was always lower. And yes I had SLI enabled and everything set correctly (181.22 drivers, also tried older 180.48 drivers that I had been using on Vista earlier, but they were even worse on W7 than 181.22). No idea why such a difference, maybe SLI hasn't been tweaked to work with the new WDDM 1.1 perfectly yet. So, back to Vista for me.
