9800GTX Fedora - how to slow down fan ?

Hi,

Driver version 180.22 under Fedora Core 7 - 2.6.23.17-88 kernel.

My 9800GTX is running at full fan speed and 61C.
I want to slow down the fan / run the card slower in Linux - I only use it for X.

nvidia-settings reports the following,

Core Temp: 61c
GPU Clock: 675, Memory Clock 11000MHz
Performance Mode: Maximum Performance

Can I adjust this somewhere to slow the card down and make temp and fan speed lower ?

PoweMizer only offers permformance level 0.

nvclock does not recognize 9800GTX.

Make sure you use nvclock 0.8b4 though depending on your model fanspeed control might not work at this point.

Consider this a bump! Got the same problem under debian. Du i really have to throw away my 9800gtx and get an older card? Come on there has to be a way

I couldn't get nvclock to compile - my Linux knowledge is probably the problem there :-)

To be honest I wouldn't really know how to underclock the card anyway - I'm just concerned with the fan constantly being on full speed and the temp running at 61c.

I don't use this box for anything other than gnome - no gaming etc.

This is sub-optimal.
