Hi,
Driver version 180.22 under Fedora Core 7 - 2.6.23.17-88 kernel. My 9800GTX is running at full fan speed and 61C. I want to slow down the fan / run the card slower in Linux - I only use it for X. nvidia-settings reports the following, Core Temp: 61c GPU Clock: 675, Memory Clock 11000MHz Performance Mode: Maximum Performance Can I adjust this somewhere to slow the card down and make temp and fan speed lower ? PoweMizer only offers permformance level 0. nvclock does not recognize 9800GTX. Thanks Darren |

Make sure you use nvclock 0.8b4 though depending on your model fanspeed control might not work at this point.

Consider this a bump! Got the same problem under debian. Du i really have to throw away my 9800gtx and get an older card? Come on there has to be a way

I couldn't get nvclock to compile - my Linux knowledge is probably the problem there :-)
To be honest I wouldn't really know how to underclock the card anyway - I'm just concerned with the fan constantly being on full speed and the temp running at 61c. I don't use this box for anything other than gnome - no gaming etc. This is sub-optimal. D |
