Odd, I would think a GTX 280 would be able to run the game with PhysX a lot better than my 8800 could.

Maybe you can try version 8.11.18. That could work better for you.

I've got no problems with the physics and I'm still running a 8800GT.
185.20 and latest PhysX drivers (9.09.0010)

"serious" - if you mention the word, there is a likelihood of seeing ~ "y so srs" shortly after.

That' odd.

Once the slide show starts, the only way to get it to stop is to turn off Physx and load the game again. I've tried the new 181.22 Beta and Physx 9 and still get this. Something is still not right in Physx town.
It seems to be some sort of a bug, as I play the game with an 8800GTX and I get no slideshows. I think there might be a slight initial slowdown when I walk through some soft things for the first time, but if I come back and walk through again it's fine. As far as glass and flags go though, I did not really get any sudden drops.

Having played a bit yesterday it's really disappointing to see that all top times in leaderboards are cheaters. The guys just teleport, begin running before the level begins, get insane speeds from those teleports etc. etc.

For example take a look at the first two times for the first time trial level and run against their ghost. Unbelievable really...

No idea, but you can see it if you run against their ghosts.

I'm glad PC gamers seem to appreciate this game, since I felt pretty alone loving it on console.

Think I got the physx ok now. Did another un-install and then cleaned out all Nvidia and PhysX with Driver Cleaner.net. Installed 181.22 Beta again and this time the game plays very good with physx on. Played the level with the atrium (actually the one of the above screenshot). Got all the physx effects with no slow down this time. Dunno what the hell was going on, I'll keep my fingers crossed it stays this way. I think maybe with Nvidia coming out with so many physX revisions along with the driver revisions is mucking up the soup sometimes. Maybe Nvidia needs to come up with a more efficient way to incorporate physx in their drivers.

Hmmm... guess I should do something similar.
