Default Help! nVidia MCP55 High Definition Audio (rev a2) Integrated Sound Problems

Hi all,

I am using a nVidia M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard with a nVidia GeForce 8800GTS (512MB) video card. I'm also using Gentoo Linux 32-bit 2.6.27-r7.

I'm having problems getting my sound to work. When I run:

lspci -v | grep -i audio I get:
00:06.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP55 High Definition Audio (rev a2)

I'm trying to get my sound to work with ALSA but it won't detect my card. I've tried pretty much everything I can to get it working to no results. Any ideas? I REALLY need sound
