Since it uses UE3, is there a setting in a config file that might address the widescreen issue?

It's not UE3. It's their own engine. It's called the Evolution Engine, they claim its 100% written from scratch.

Well that wasn't the only thing. People were claiming that their drive would physically be damaged by the Starforce Driver. On THE anti Starforce website, they were showing pictures of Optical drives had fire damage on it, or showing CD/DvD shattered while in the drive, and claiming it was Starforce that did it.

What made the pirates start this huge smear campaign against Starfoce is because Splinter Cell Chaos Theory had Starforce V3.0, and it was literally not cracked for about a year, the pirates couldn't crack it.

I stand corrected. Sure looks like UE3, though, or at least the color palette does.

Smart is not the same as not knowing.

Vertically? Maybe horizontally.

So many possibilities, which one is right though? Pick what suits you
His point might have solely been that the pirated copy has issues, intentional or not, and the store copy does not. I haven't seen anyone else complain of BSOD issues for the real, retail release.

Also, I haven't had a BSOD in literally 5 or 6 years, and I often wonder why others still do.

As for stretching, I think Nekro is right and it stretches from 16:9 to 16:10, but it's barely noticeable to me. I tried running in 1920x1080 but even with native resolution set in my control panel it fills the whole screen... odd.

I don't think the game is stretched in 16:10 after all...

*Pics removed... yes it is... see below*

If you have an nvidia card you can set it to mantain aspect ratio. I do that with mine all the time, you will get black bars.

I wonder if its worth rebuying the game... I have it on PS3 which I got for $10...

My point was I have it set that way but is still taking up the whole screen. Control Panel = nVidia control panel.

Just did a detailed report on this one for WSGF: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com...ic.php?t=15794

In the end Nekro WAS right, it does stretch... when I saw it was Vert- I said "he has to be wrong," but here it is Vert- AND stretched, which makes very little sense to me, but is true, sure enough.

Still a great game, but this is definately a blemish. Try playing it in 1600:1200, you may prefer it.
