As you can read above, while it can not use TurboCache VPDAU seems to work for at least some HD video when compiz visual effects are not enabled.
So given that information I (speaking for the MPlayer side, not NVidia) don't intend to spend time on it, since it seems to work as well as you can expect given the hardware.

Yeah, some videos work, but especially the ones with high bitrate do not. So it can decode exactly the same videos my CPU could handle as well ...
Of course I don't expect mplayer developers to do anything about it, but want to know if nvidia is planning to fix their implementation.

For future reference, could you explain what works / what does not work (possibly the videos not
conforming to level 4.1)?
Do Apple HD trailers work?
Does the Grey.ts sample work?
Maybe you can find out the number of reference frames for the videos that do not work.

Level 5.1, ref=16 plays well for me, thought they are no more than 720p, 1500kbps
