Default OpenSuSE 11.1 (64 Bit) NVidia 8600M GS drivers

Hi, i just installed OpenSuSE 11.1 (64 bit) and i love it, the problem is i can't install the graphic drivers...
I have a NVidia 8600M GS, and i add the repositories then install with YAST, and when i restart, i can only get 800x600 max screen resolution...
I have done this without any problem in previous versions of SuSE, but i can't with this one...
Does anyone knows what might be the problem?

Thanks

Have you run nvidia-xconfig after installing from the repository?
It looks like the RPM does not do this automatically anymore.

How are you trying to change resolution?

No, i didn't run nvidia-xconfig... As i never had problems installing my drivers in Linux and never had to do that, i didn't know that i had to do such a thing...

I'll try that, and post the result in a few minutes. I just have to type that on the console, right? I'm not that an expert at Linux, still trying to learn...

I try to change the resolution with OpenSuSE's Screen Resolution app that is present on the taskbar. Wich detects my 15" monitor without the drivers, but it says that it's not recognised after i install them...

Thanks for helping.

I installed the drivers again, and then tried to configure X.Org with "sax2 -r" but my system tatally flipped up and i ended up with a balck screen...
Then i rebooted and now i'm able to use resolutions up to 1024x768, and tried "nvidia-xconf" but it didn't work, even after another reboot...

I've found this forum that seems to have a solution, but i can't get yum to work on SuSE...
Code:

Any ideas?

SOLVED

I installed make, gcc and kernel-source with YaST
I manually downloaded the drivers from NVidia.
Then pressed Ctrl + Alt + F1
Then logged in.
Then typed "su" and after, the pass
Typed "init 3" to be on text mode only
Then i changed to the directory where in downloaded the drivers to (in my case Desktop)
Then i typed "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-180.22-pkg2.run -q"
The drivers installed
At last i typed "sax2 -r"
I chose my resolution, and after a reboot it works fine

The drivers are installed because i can enable Desktop Efects, although with those activated the screen doesn't refresh properly...
But i got the drivers working, that's what matters.
