Thanks for all the input!

It seems that SiS chipsets are in the majority for the 'best for the buck' category. Intel seems to be overpriced (yet more stable) and VIA, even I know, has had problems. Question:

What's the major difference between SiS 645DX and SiS 648?
Also seems that DDR is favored over RDRAM. That is what I figured would happen. Question: Since they changed the naming scheme from pc133/150/166 (effective speed) to PC2100/PC3100 (bandwith), i am all confused. I never bothered to learn the naming scheme and what bandwiths relate to their speeds. How will I know which to couple with whatever chip i purchase?
Was the 2.53Ghz combo you found that was cheaper than the 2.4Ghz a fluke? The prices seem to be higher for 2.53Ghz barebones on the average, from what I've seen anyway.

pc1600 = 100mhz ddr
pc2100 = 133mhz ddr
pc2700 = 166mhz ddr

Anything above that I'm not sure what the speed is, jedec has only set standards up to pc2700 so far.
