I would consider getter atleast a 750 for this card.
On full load this card pulls more than 300w easy and in sli oh man.

Thanks the replies peeps! I have no plan to go Quad SLI, so that won't be a big deal. Great to know that someone has it on a 650W, PC Power and Cooling usually seems to perform better than manufacture specs though right? I will take your recommendation of the 750W though into consideration, so if I experience any issues I might have to pull it and go back to my old card until I can get a new PS.

But if a 610W did, or seemed to work, you have to ask what are the ramifications. Nvidia suggests 680W for 295s and if you use a lower wattage then how well the video card performs let alone the life of the card are both in Jeopardy- maybe your warranty too. But the owner is the one that should care if the life of a card is shortened and not the manufacturer. If my 8800GTX had lasted maybe 6 months longer I bet BFG would have ran out of replacements for it and given me a 260. It happened to someone else on NVNews Forums with a different company I think. I had an original BFG 8800GTX go out, but I did get an 8800Ultra for a replacement. ![]() |
