Just installed vista HP 64 bit and I seem to be having trouble with the sound in some games. Team Fortress 2 and EP:2 to be exact. All other games work fine. The problem is that the sound is scratchy and it skips. All my drivers are up to date and I have tried both X-FI and onboard sound same thing happens in both environments. If I boot into 32 bit the sound is fine in all games. No stuttering at all. Thanks in advance .
I have also redownloaded those two game and verified integrity of the files and defragmented them. I have also turned sound settings all the way down as well. Same thing. |

source powered games use valve sound engine so openal, alchemy won't help.
just like Bob, don't have any issues. only thing i can recommend is re-checking those drivers.

I thought Source used DS3D. Hence the reason you can download HL2 (Source) profiles from the Alchemy developer website.
