Default New CPU, Need advice on Steam Warhead

Whats the best way to go about not using an install credit up when I put in a new cpu, Just back-up and uninstall Warhead?

Do any other Steam games need this ,I bought stalker the other day on steam,Does that have the same DRM?

You can back up your steam install no problems. Just copy the steam install to a storage partition, and when you get windows back up run the steam installer and point it to that partition. I have mine on its own partition, and have reinstalled windows three times and done this.

Once you enter your login cred. you should be ready to play.

I've reformatted several times and haven't done anything in regards to uninstalling or backing up steam and I haven't had any problems reinstalling the game. It's been at least 4 if not 5 times so far.... I wonder how many more I have before it says I can't play?????

On a side note, IMO the # installs limit idea is one of the worst anti-piracy ideas I've ever heard of. The pirates still have no problems at all with the game and those of us that actually paid for it get to deal with a total pain in the ass

If anything, I would think this stupid idea would drive the amount of piracy up instead of down.

What?

If I buy Crysis from Steam, it's bound to the particular Windoze installation?

Nah, Steam itself is the anti-piracy device, no need for limited installs IIRC.
