What graphics settings are you all running?
Mine is 2aa in-game, nhancer: 8s combined, multi-transparency, 16AF. 8xSQ + super-transparency wasn't quite as smooth. This game is awesome, good recommendation nekro! ![]() |

Installed the time trial from nZone, but didn't install the EA download manager. Not sure if I missed a key patch, because the game simply would not load. I'd get the "not responding" messaging simply from trying to run it.

I didn't get the patch until after I played it once, so that's not your problem. The game has an elaborate front-end with the market and such though, so it might block you until you install the download thing.

Wow, this game has by far the worst interface I've seen in a PC game in a long time.
It looks flashy but its just a complete mess. I'm running the trial version and I have yet to even play the game. When I signed up at the start of the game it told me I'm not old enough to play online (I put in my exact birthday and I'm going to be 23 next month). So after randomly clicking cancel a few times I get sent back to a menu where I chose to test drive the game. It played a long intro and then put me in a car but my controller wasn't set up. After mashing random keys over and over to get to an options menu I realized my controller wasn't even detected. I had to mash more random keys to get back to the main menu where I mashed some keys again and was finally provided a "quit" button. I'm going to keep at this because the game itself looks cool but whoever designed this interface needs to learn a thing or two about functionality before they jump right into animated artsy game menus. Also the game is stuck at a headache inducing 60Hz (I'm on a CRT) and at 1600x1200 its cropped down to about 17" of my 22" monitor. Its like some kind of weird letterbox\windowbox thing. It also caused an Explorer crash on my Games window when I ran it from there the first time. Yeesh. I hope you guys are having better luck with this than I am... ![]()

Well I can't seem to get my controller to show up in the game so I played it with a keyboard.
I fixed the refresh rate thing though. I use the refresh rate forcing utility in Rivatuner and I just had to change it to "compatibility mode" and the game works fine at 85Hz. This also fixed the strange cut-off screen I was getting. The gameplay seems pretty cool, though I don't know how much replay value it has. The crashes are awesome and the sense of speed when flying over miles of highway in a few seconds is pretty exhilarating but after that wears off its hard to say how much of a game there is here. I played it until the trial ended though. I'll probably play it a few more times before I decide if I'm going to get the game or not. The sound effects are pretty awesome. The graphics are decent but it looks a little dated to me. I think the Flatout series looked better (maybe even the first one) but there is a lot of terrain being drawn in this game and it runs absolutely flawless so I won't complain.

The menus are terrible indeed, but thats because it a console game, dumb console people dont care about menus and option, they play.
![]() it take around 2 minutes from start to get to menus, and every time you change a car it take about 5s because the car has to fall from the sky hahaha ![]() also i was able to use a pad Saitek, its really tricky to set it in the menus, and to start a race event or whatever you push a gas and braks A + Z, but on pad i like to have theme on analog stick, so right now i,m unable to start eny event hahahah so stupid ![]() PATHETIC CONSOLE PORT but the gpx are nice indeed, i got 5.1 system and the sound is very quiet even maxed, but you know guns a roses janes addiction alice in chains NICE ![]() |

How long is the time limit? I think I remember something like 30 minutes on the PS3, then you had to exit the game. After the limit is up can you just reboot the game and have some more time or does it lock it permanently?
