i agree. i could see paying 15-20 bucks, but not more. but then again, its only 24 player support. that might make it not worth buying right there ...

We all know the only map that will be played is Wake Island, so why not just make....

Battlefield : Wake Up

Which has 6 levels, with wake island set in WW1, WW2, Vietnam war, Korean war, 2009, 2142.

I'm sure 1943 will cost like $20-30 and then new maps and such will come out as DLC that you pay for. For $50-60 you will probably have the "full game."

This combats piracy on PC and game trading on consoles, and publishers are more and more likely to start doing it often as time goes by.

I don't think we should be too worried tho. This is just a half game to get people excited for Bad Company 2 which is most likely the next mainstream battlefield game. I'm thinking there may be a BF3 in the longterm future.

This was said in May 2008 by the BF exec Ben Cousins:

Quote:
BT: Between the console-based Bad Company and the more casual, kind of accessible feel of Heroes, some hardcore fans may be worried that the once realistic, PC-only shooter is now...

BC: Changed?

BT: Yeah, like it’s going to suddenly become this casual, console-only shooter.

BC: Well, I’m the executive producer on the franchise. I’m really in charge of the entire Battlefield franchise and it’s very clear to me that there are three…well, we have to make this a three-pronged assault with the series really.

First, there are consoles. Consoles are really big, we can’t ignore them, we have to be on the consoles. Second, there’s this casual experiment we’re going with Battlefield: Heroes and the third prong is the hardcore PC gaming experience. We’ve made those in the past and we’ll continue to make them in the future. We aren’t specifically announcing anything, but we are still going to keep those hardcore gamers very happy.
Who knows if he means Bad Company 2 For PC or not.

People need to stop associating mainstreaming/dumbing down with consoles. Yes, consoles are more mainstream, but the real reason this occurs, on all platforms, is to get higher sales.

Movies don't have console and PC divisions, they just have movies, and those have been getting more and more dumbed down for decades. It's all about making a larger profit.

I don't think it will though. Console gamers aren't dumb.

Bad Company 2 looks more interesting than regen health, unlimited ammo BF. I don't think they are targetting the right audience. Heroes is fine, but why do a semi-heroes like game?

Bring back hardcore.
