openSUSE only works with x11failsafe
I have the nvidia GeForce 7050PV came with this board
yast in the NVIDIA repository, I added the driver via yast, yast video control now says that is the one it is using yet I go to try to test and save and I get an error. upon reboot taken streight to a shell login. I login and startx and get this
FATAL: Error inserting nvidia (/lib/modules/184.108.40.206-0.1-default/weak-updates/nvidia.ko): No such device
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module!
(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have usable configuration.
Fatal se rver error:
no screens found
waiting for X server to begin accepting connections
init: Connection reset by peer (errno104): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno3): Server error.
I have the module but it won't load. The only way this module will work is if I add x11failsafe to the kernel options. Any help would be much appreciated OpenSUSE 11.0 64 bit default kernel I have 1wks to fix this before I leave town and come back with my wife this is her desktop and I have to have the 3d working when she comes back.
