It's like playing Dawn of the Dead.

But the Dead Rising campaign had a fairly deep story, which had you run around rescuing survivors doing missions and killing "bosses" (special weird insane humans). All while finding makeshift weapons and slaughtering a huge amount of zombies, some cultists and a few other insane humans.

Most people complained about the save system and the difficulty. You basically have to level up your character by starting and playing some time(which is saved) and then restart the campaign with a higher lvl character. Although the savesystem was stupid, I love that the game was more difficult. Most games today are just way too easy.

There was more to it later, but it remained sort of repetitive throughout. The best part of the game was random zombie killing with cool and unique weapons... and of course that only lasts so long before you get bored.

It also suffered from Japanese design with a horrible save system, gridning to become more powerful and a non-sensical story designed just for boss fights.

It had a TON of potential though, and I hope that is realized in the sequel.

If you can construct special weapons this game will rock.

If it is just a unique single weapon with two chainsaws on a pole, the game will rock anyway.

Sums it up pretty well. It still looks great (Thanks to Capcom's amazing engine) and the amount on enemies on screen in a 3rd person has only really been matched by Blood Money... Best bit is exploring and finding new things to do to the zombies. Like putting giant lego men heads on them then hitting golf balls at them. baseball bats. Taking funny pics of them is also kinda cool, but it all does get boring after awhile.

I did enjoy most of the first one even if it does have some craptastic save and timing issues.

Looking forward to this second one and thank you, it'll be on the PC.
