I encountered extended mouse cursor, whose display Y-coordinate seems to be timed 2, and display X-coordinate and working X-Y coordinate kept original.
So, I need to click the far below of a button to activate it. It happends occasionally, once a day.. And there is no obvious reproducible pattern. I've tried SWcursor, and I haven't met this problem yet. BUT, on hardware rendering image, the mouse cursor is disappered when mouse stopped. These are happened on different machine machines. These machine setting is video card: Quadro4 380 XGL driver version: NVRM version: NVIDIA Linux x86 nvidia.o Kernel Module 1.0-4191 Mon Dec 9 11:49:01 PST 2002 GCC version: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-110) distribution: RedHat (2.4.18-18SGI_XFS_1.2pre5smp) video bios revision: 04.18.20.02.11 processor: 2 x Intel(R) XEON(TM) CPU 2.00GHz motherboard model: TYAN Thunder i7505 S2665 |

It seems to happen fairly regularly for you - does it happen with 4349?

OK, I'll try 4349.
The linux kernel was built with 4191, so I'll rebuild the kernel to separate it. If there are means kind of modification module/kernel setting, it's preferable. Thank you. |

I've been having this problem recently as well. One of our clients is seeing it several times a day. The problem results in the cursor stretching to twice its normal height and the Y cursor space seeming to double. This means that you have to click at the bottom of the screen to hit something that is displayed in the middle.
I've found that this can be fixed by going to a virtual terminal (Ctr-Alt-F1) and then back to X (Ctr-Alt-F7). This is a major problem for our client, however, as they can't be expected to do this very often. Has anybody seen this before? Any ideas? I can post my config files if necessary. Aubrey |
