Finally had some time to get some good gaming in over the holidays, finishing Metro 2033 and BF: BC2. From what I have gathered, both Black Ops and Medal of Honor are a big step backwards graphics wise from BC2, and I am wondering if there are any other games out there that I should pick up to start plugging away. Anything out there with the same caliber of graphics and gameplay as BC2 that you folks could recommend?

Single player usually sucks on those games. It's all about the multi-player. Might want to try Far Cry 2 and you could probably pick it up cheap.

Hmm, I actually did pick that one up on Steam some time ago and haven't fired it up yet. What about Modern Warfare 2? How has it aged?

MW2 and BO have great graphics IMO. The MP is addictive too. If you are just wanting something pretty to lookb at, then stick with Crysis.

Didn't even bother with MW2 because of no dedicated servers, so I suck with CoD4 MW. I just don't rate the single player with MW.

Far Cry 2 is crap... unless of course you like driving back and forth and finding the same enemies in the same spots hundreds of times.
Repetitive isn't even the word for that game.

Avoid the roads and checkpoints back the way you came. Take boats and alternate routes. The game was designed like that because they know the general single mindedness in how people play. Also take the bus at the bus station out to the outer map regions and use the desert to avoid check points. I only take out checkpoints if I need ammo or health or a some action. |

It's mediocre. If you liked Painkiller, Time Shift it might be your cup of tea.
