Just use the various units according to their strengths and weaknesses.. that means not just dragging a box around all your units and right clicking at everything that comes at you. That means using cover, using special abilities as often as possible but at the right moments, choosing the best loadout for the mission, knowing when to fall back etc., you'll get the hang of it eventually with a little perseverance if you're willing to watch how the game works carefully and learn from your mistakes

screens dont do it justice, so many little details in motion, like ground impact from missed shots.

Funny cause that's usually what I do, but I have a lvl 20 fully upgraded right squad and they are stinkin tanks. I'm using 3 terminaters + FC or 2 Terms + Dread + FC. That's usually my loadout.

Got some decent gear stuff too, wish the game wouldn't end but continue on after your done. Just give you misc. missions and quests with more drops maybe even let you weak more detailed things with your squad. Would be nice!

You have to start the game with -DEV though. Instructions are in the zip file... Enjoy.

Default Re: Dawn of War 2....do people live under a rock???

After a bit more time, ive got some more feedback. Its loosing its shine pretty quickly.

1. After doing pretty well, I just killed the first tank boss. The next mission had me defend generators against a large beast boss. Unfortunatly this beast started one shotting my tanks..my TANKS in melee range! My commander could take like 3 hits but the first hit was usualy a knock down and he proceeded to kill him from there. I am not sure what the game expects me to do here if even my commander can't take the hits. cast magic missle?

2. Loot drops suck... I am around level 12 now and I realised that my tank group has been running around with a level 2 pistol that did like 3dps. it finally got updated after 10 levels...thats to damn long and to damn boring. Especialy now that leveling has slowed down some, the time inbetween new talent abilities and such leave you stuck fighting harder and harder mobs while you yourself don't get upgraded as much.

3. Is this it? are these my only 5 units available to me in the single player game?

I honestly havent gone back to single play campaign since diving into multi play, probably cause elder have always been my fav race, even though space marines are fun too. But multi play 3on3 is where the game shines imo, just wish there were more maps..

I think you just need to practice your micro.

I'm getting awesome loot. Are you exploring the maps?

I think there is one more unit. A tank to go along with the Deadnaught, scouts, assaults, devs, tacticals and of course yourself. That's 7 total.

Yea, at first I wasnt but then I started clearing out the maps so I could maximise the drops and XP gain.
