This is really disgraceful! I would expect this behaviour from a very small company, not from one of Nvidia's dimension. |

I sent a mail yesterday to nvidia about the powermizer problem. Got the reply today.
"Your case is being escalated to our Level 2 Tech Support group. The Level 2 agents will review the case notes. As this process may take some time we ask that you be patient and a Level 2 tech will contact you with the relevant information. Best regards," Hope it helps |

It sounds to me as if the small (maybe 5 people?) nvidia linux development team have been told from on high that they want to be able to advertise linux cards as having full video acceleration on linux. They have probably been given some sort of time limit on this, or if not, told to focus all their efforts on VDPAU and probably opengl 3.0. Any time the nvidia devs spend fixing other bugs is time not spent on getting VDPAU and opengl 3.0 implemented properly. They would then be forced to explain to their superiors why the requested features are not implemented yet. Don't blame the dev's they're just doing what they're paid to do. Sam |

Probably yes but with or without vdpau, with or without opengl 3 support, 1/3 of our graphic card will keep being like it used to be 5 years ago.
And it's not only like nvidia devs are busy on something, they just don't give us any news about this, and THAT is not fair... |

I m bumping this because i DO REALLY want nvidia to do something, here is my theory:
-I bump up this thread -Someone from nvidia comes here and read my **** -That person, that does not know the mater with powermizer starts a research and realizes that the powermizer thing have been limiting our performance for several month in order to save 10 dollars per year -Then, divine intervention, that person thinks, as a hero "damn, i can't abandon them" -Next driver, the powermizer thing is working. Do you guys think I m dreaming awake ? |

There's also a theory which states that dreams should be interpreted as an opposite of what is going to happen. So, just to be sure, I hope that was not a dream, but a prophecy endowed to you by aliens.
