Right,

Testing 180.35 shows problems with terminal based applications also for me (mythtv appliance based on minimyth).
It looks like 180.35 is nvidia accident in QC and I hope they will soon re-release it with fixed signal issue.

It looks like 180.35 breaks signal handling.

The driver isn't breaking signal handling on further investigation. There are programs quering the xserver which is looking at some property that the video card driver is supposed to give back. Unfortunately the request goes into the xserver and never comes back because the driver eats the request and doesn't respond. GRRRRR. Because of the lack of response the apps become Zombies and hence can't be killed until the parent process is killed in which this case is the Xserver. So nVidia please take down this driver release as it is broke as in no download link and not on the ftp server to prevent nearly every computer breaking out there. As in this is the most broke driver I've seen in about four years. This has happened once before about four years ago.

Count me in! When using KDE 4.2 on 180.35 and starting konsole makes my Kicker and main panel not responsive also when screen is locked, you can't unlock it.

Guess thats the fate of us users which are running bleeding edge Running 180.29 again and no problem

Not sure this is the same bug but with 180.35 I can't close xterms. either by close
button nor exiting the shell. doesn't matter which window manager either.

I think you guys need to start attaching nvidia-bug-reports because I've loaded three computers with 180.35 and I haven't had any issues. Two 9 series and one 8 series and they were all 64-bit with X.org server 1.5.3.

Maybe you could do the same please? So the nvidia guys have a comparison between working and non-working and can better see some differences.

I had to sign up and comment on your xorg.conf

Try those changes in settings above. EVDEV manages your devices.

My System: Debian Sid with Xorg 1.5.3 & KDE 4.2 Experimental.

I'm waiting on the 180.35 driver from Debian Experimental to build my kernel module.

However, without the evdev X would not work correctly.

My setup is as follows:
