im totally confused as to what exactly to change on my UD4P to overclock my new D0 version to 4Ghz (also have changed the cooler to a Prolimatech Megahalems)

i now also have 1600 capable memory aswell=

1. Turn off speedstep

2. Turn off Turbo

3. Set Vcore to 1.35v

4. Set DRAM to 1.66 (and disregard the voltage warnings...it's o.k.)

5. Make sure your RAM is set to 1066 (not the 1600 it's rated for as it will step with your other settings later)

6. Set your Bclk to 190 (for 3.8ghz)

My only recommendation is to make sure you have a decent aftermarket cooler on your proc as the stock cooler will struggle at these settings. It might still run, but it WILL struggle.

These settings will set your RAM to 1523mhz. Most people have needed to bump their Vcore up another smidgen to get 4ghz, but really there's no reason IMO.

Sorry dude. Booted for me first time.

I'd try leaving everything else the same as I posted and changing the Bclk to something less aggressive (which will also keep your RAM settings lower). Try something like 150 (for a 3.0ghz oc). This isn't too much considering your default is only 133.

Once you get a good POST and can look at how it runs (use some type of system monitor), you can go from there. You may have to bump your Vcore a bit more (though you shouldn't have to bump it much more than 1.35 at all).

Trial and error is a way of life for the oc'er.

Components don't share the same settings, You might have a D0 but nothing says it will OC as good as other D0. Same with your Motherboard...

Take it slow and change the settings smoothly rather then doing big leaps.

Someone earlier posted a good link to a tutorial that I used to get to know the settings. Once I learned what needs to change and its limits I did it all on my own.

it came with my bosses UD5 and was pre OC'd to 4Ghz so i know that CPU can do it just hope my UD4P can (my boss swapped it for my C0)

i copied the exact settings my bosses UD5 motherboard had. he now has my old memory and C0 cpu and i have his 1600 capable mem and D0

just inputted those setting tonight and have booted fine into vista.

I'm getting ready to try and OC. My NB temp is 56° in the BIOS at stock clocks. Isn't that pretty darn hot to start out with?
