See how low you can go with the voltages. Your current voltage seems way too high. At first I was hitting 1.35V and my temps were getting up to 85C. After toning back the voltage, my chip doesn't go above 74C at full load.

Also I know it seems counterproductive, but a lot of these chips can hit 4GHz without breaking a sweat, but need a good amount of extra voltage to go beyond 4GHz. You may want to consider scaling back some if you can lower the voltage a good deal. That will keep temperatures lower and prolong the chip's life.

i resat my CPU last week and used Thermaltakes Chillfactor instead of Arctic siler...omg excellent results and the thermal paste i once swore by has now been replaced.

Still at 3.8 for the moment but after these results will see if i can push to a 24/7 4.0 overclock at low reasonable temps.

nice. thats identical to my 24/7 temps, and i am using thermalright's paste.
why is your total physical memory 4?

Well spotted bob...I didn't see that nor notice but it seems i only have 4gb usuable but there is 6gb installed. Looking into it further as it seems there could be 2 reasons. A bad cpu reseat or the bios update.

Had the same thing happen, and it was a dead stick.

Tested all the RAM individually and all was fine. I resat the CPU and rebooted....

Now all 6GB is available....I read that too much pressure on the cpu from the heatsink can be the cause of this, all seems fine now anyway. Unfortunately the 4.0ghz profile will have to wait till the new thermal paste has had its warm in period.

Thanks for spotting that too bob lol

Got the system sorted out and she's kicking butt...

4.18Ghz clocks on both CPU's at 1.35 volts, using LinX with maximum memory amount, wich in this case means 17+ GB of it, full load temperatures with all cores at 100% for 40 minutes is averaging 60*C.....Fans spinning at only 60%, wich is only 1300 RPM and pretty quiet.

I'll receive the water blocks for the 3 GTX580's next monday and then benchmarks are really going to fly to new heights.... right now the video cards are running stock.
