Is PCI express 1.0 slowing my GTX 295 down?

Just wondering. I have a P35 board coupled with ma new GTX 295. Cant really compare the performance to my last card (64mb x300 lol) but im just wondering if my lack of 2.0 is having an impact on my games.

P.s how do you remove the graphics limit in GTA IV? Im stuck at a viewdistance of 20 odd >_>

Highly doubt it, from everything I've read. I have noticed that the 295 really likes a highly OCed processor.

no your entire system is slowing it down.

it seems like when the newest hotted cards hit the market, there's a see saw thing going on where the CPU's (unless you've got the scratch for an EE i7) become the bottle neck.

Then about when the gpu's are losing steam, and a new crop of top end cpu's hit the scene, the next big over priced GPU is on the market.

LOL, it's a simple plan to remove as much cash from our wallets as possible, which in my case has been working admirably for the last 20+ years.

In the last couple of years I've been able to control my upgrade fervor to once a year but that requires a simply massive dose of self control on my part. The closest scenario I can equate this too is a junkie who needs a fix right now and is willing to pimp his wife/mother/sister/brother/self to get it.

The PCI-E most likely isn't limiting anything, but you should definitely overclock your CPU.

Get a good cooler and push that thing to 3.6Ghz or more.

What I'm doing is completing 4 weeks of not OCing with my new GTX295/ P35 System. What's making it drag on so long is I just started getting advice at TweakTown/ Gigabyte Forum for my P35 Gigabyte MOBO that I've had a whole year, and I'm just now satisfied and ready to OC again. I expect 20% to 30% improvement at between 3.7Ghz and 4.0Ghz.
