Do you get a nice boost when running three GTX 280's on a 780i SLI Board and a Q9650 running at 4gigs.How much more of a boost would I get ruuning Three GTX 280's on a i7 setup, running near the 4gig mark..Plus do you need a 30" monitor to really to see the Boost,or would I see it running at 1920x1200 on a 24" monitor.

Well I run 3 x GTX280's on an I7920 @ 4Ghz and 24" Samsung.
The performance boost is very nice over the single and dual card setups I used to use. For instance Crysis runs all maxed out 1920x1200 16xaf 8xaa Multisampling and it runs smooth as butter. I'm pretty amazed at how well it runs actually. For Fallout 3 I use same settings except for aa x16. So yeah you can say it's very nice, especially now with the cheap price of the 280's atm. |

Here's a review with 280, 2X280, and 3X280: 280, 2X280, and 3X280 The first Benchmark- ten pages total- is odd because 2X280 beats 3X280. But the rest demonstrate the 280's scalability. (Not counting WIC of course.) GL |
