I really don't trust Telltale with it... their games are just not nearly as witty, funny or intelligent as the classics, and Monkey Island was the most witty, funny and intelligent of all.

I would love to be surprised though.

Thats why i'm interested more in MISE. I'll still get the tales but i wont be surprised if the quality was lower than LA's classics

I remember when I heard Sam and Max was coming out, I was SO excited... bought it, played it, thought "wow, I guess I'm just not into these kinds of games anymore... this is kind of boring."

Then I played the original Sam and Max again and discovered it's just as awesome as it was before, or even more so.

Telltale needs more... I don't know... pizzaz.

If you ask me the Telltale games could use a bit more mature content like the comics.

True... it's more than that though.

All you need to do is boot up Sam and Max and hear the opening "FRIEEEENDS?" That one word in the original has more character than anything in the Telltale games.

It sounds like I'm being overly harsh, but that's how I feel. Same for the above Monkey Island clip... it seems okay, and fun if you're really wanting to play another adventure... but it's just flat-out nothing compared to the originals... for ME, anyway.

And this comes from someone who usually freely admits older games are often much crapier than we remember them, and newer games much better than we realize.

Yeah I agree, most older games are worse we just look on them with nostalga goggles. I also agree there is an exception the older Adventure games like Sam and Max, Indiana Jones and Leisure Suit Larry, all games with modern installments that just aren't quite as good as the older adventures.

Main thing with Telltale, they just don't have the talent LA had back in the days, but they are working on it. We just need to support them.
