Default Problem with Wine - Not a NVidia Bug :)

I'm having a problem with a game under wine. The game plays well, but there are some rendering issues with some of the elements. The game is Perfectworld International and the problem has been present for at least a year.

This has been traced specifically to this game only and s3tc support. I was just wondering if anybody knows how to disable st3c support. Either in xorg.conf or in an environement variable. Better yet, if it can be done at runtime of the game.

Thanks for any insight.
