Default Specific AVC Support in VDPAU

Gday folks

So the readme on AVC for my GPU says:

VDP_DECODER_PROFILE_H264_MAIN, VDP_DECODER_PROFILE_H264_HIGH:

* Complete acceleration.
* Minimum width or height: 3 macroblocks (48 pixels).
* Maximum width or height: 128 macroblocks (2048 pixels).
* Maximum macroblocks: 8192

Under high profile, what level is actually supported?

Does VDPAU read the AVC header type info to get the level? Or is it a hardware limit that it tries to play a file then wiggs out?

* What fps is ok at what resolution? Im mainly doing 1920x1080 stuff.

If its an arbitary limit and not a hardware limit, can I set the header to a certain level but actually exceed it within the encode?

Can we please get more specific details into the readme.

Level 4.1 is supported; see the output of vdpinfo (a utility mentioned elsewhere).

Nothing in our VDPAU implementation actually validates the level; anything high profile should decode visually correctly, it's just a matter of performance.

I've played Level 5.1 with 16 reference frames on 256MB card but it was SD/H264 video - currently I don't have such sample in 1080p/60 to test.
