Default CPU Heatsink and HD Questions

My current rig is starting to get long in the tooth, so I've been putting together a list of parts for a new rig. One thing I want to do is get a new case, namely the Cooler Master Cosmos S 1100, as wiring in the Stacker 832 was a pain last time (and I can reuse my drive bay modules). However, I'm having trouble picking out a heatsink for the i7 920 I'm buying (and I want to OC). I was looking at the Cooler Master V8, but it has issues clearing Cosmos' the side panel. What are some other good i7 heatsinks I should be looking at?

Also, my 150 GB Raptors in my current rig are bit small. I could go to dual 300 GB Raptors, but I want to know if there's any significant/noticeable performance difference between the Raptor and the WD 1TB Black? I'm thinking of going for dual terabyte drivers instead of dual Raptors and a single terabyte drive (which would be for storage, in the latter set up). I'm not interested in RAID0 (bad past experience - thankfully it wasn't my machine!).

Also, any thoughts on the EVGA X58 motherboard?

??? I might get into trouble using the V8 with my RC-590 but the Cosmos S should have enough room. I would not buy another V8 but for another reason: they sell the V8 *without* 1366 mounting kit here to fleece you off just another 6,-- and I had to wait 4! weeks to get the mounting kit. Have a look at Noctua: http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=p...4&lng=de&set=1 - has some good test results too: http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling...oc.aspx?i=3268 .
