Unhappy Direct rendering slow in KDE 4.2.1 while indirect fast

Hi,
I'm trying to make KDE 4.x work on my quite expensive notebook Sony Vaio VGN-SZ71XN over one year. Now I'm quite successful with 180.29 and KDE 4.2.1 on OpenSUSE 11.0. But effects are reasonably fast only with indirect rendering, which is quite CPU intensive way. Any ideas why is KDE compositing so slow with direct rendering?

Default Re: Direct rendering slow in KDE 4.2.1 while indirect fast

It looks like "blur" effect in KDE 4 is slow. When I use indirect rendering, the blur effect is disabled automatically, because it is not supported in indirect mode and the KDE is fast again.
Anyone experiencing the same performance problem with blur effect in kde 4?
