Default IE8 -FINAL- for download

The best browser is now available for download in final release
http://www.microsoft.com/ie8

I think this means end to growing Firefox marketshare, as IE8 is better in every area - features, user interface, true (the only 100% complete) CSS 2.1 support, accelerators, speed, stability (crash of e.g. Flash plugin in one tab will NOT influence other tabs; neat feature).

There are versions for Vista (including x64) as well, and in 25 languages.

I downloaded it and it seems nice, but all my annoying ads are back, including the EXTREMELY annoying one up there ^^ that pops down and just pisses you off.

Is there any kind of adblock for IE8? Otherwise, back to FF3.

IE8 can suck my balls!

It's the only browser that crashes and takes my whole system with it. Really annoying. I use Chrome mostly, and have since gone back to 7 as a backup. I hope they've sorted 8 by the time they force an upgrade.

Then again, it could be my system with the SP2 beta installed LOL ::

www.ie7pro.com

Works great for IE7, but the addon is still sketchy for IE8. I'm waiting until this is smoothed out before I try IE8.

its not going to win any standards compliance battles with the other new browsers, nor flexibility (extensions) but its a step in the right direction from IE7

According to keynote from Mix09 ( http://live.visitmix.com/ ) by Dean Hachamovich, IE8 is the -only- browser with complete and full CSS 2.1 support. They showed real-life comparisons and tests of IE8 vs. Google Chrome (Webkit) vs. FF 3.x, and only IE8 was bug-free concerning standards.

Microsoft seems to take W3C standards -extremely- seriously this time.

Add speedy UI, innovative features like accelerators and microformats, and you have a winner.

I know you might come up with Acid3 / CSS3 nonsense again, but those are working drafts and candidate recommendations, not final specs yet. Not important at all. Have yet to met webdesigner that cares about CSS3 drafts being implemented in current browsers.

Much more important is stuff like independent threads for tabs, this will save plenty of work when single tab crashes.

Until this has adblocking I'm not touching it.

You can add me(not sure a web software engineer counts but eh) and everyone who works where I do to the list of people wanting new browsers to be as forward reaching in their rendering of standards as possible. Safari 4 is more advanced in that regard (but still won't use it unless testing).

Would be awesome if they found a way to get people to upgrade all the IE7 and IE6 installs to get more people running on a common rendering level.
