I know nothing about this stuff at all, but isn't 68C still pretty f'ing hot for a processor without anything taxing it?

Asusen, you know its funny you said that. Up untill now I thought keeping my video card at %90 fan speed all the time was enough, but remnant was pushing my video card temps up to 86F'ish. I dont like seeing its temps past 82F so now I have it running %100 all the time. ^^ The unreal engine can sure work over your pc.

I've slowed playing it quite abit, the game really requires alot of grinding now in the later levels (past combat level 35), and it really does wear on you that you can't tell individuals how to act. I've got a few vids to make though, one of them is a hilariously cheesy cinematic that introduces the elites of the conquerer's forces. I swear its something right out of dragonball Z.

68c should be temp under load. Idle should be about 24-40c max.

and jeffmd 86f is very cool for video card, what you are talking about is C.

C is the default temp unit used by almost every single program

so my idle temps on my CPU is too high then maybe it is damaged already since it took me a few tries to start the PC back in JAnuari before i noticed the heatsink was loose and after i put it back firmly it ha had temps of 40-68 so i dunno maybe a new quad ? since i7 is tooo expensive

no i did not put on any new paste although i should have it is the nr 1 rule i know and i missed it.
well it keeps it under 60 degrees C when not full load when playing Warhead and Last.R. it goes over 100 C on core 0 rest is above 90 but under 100C

should i get a better cooler or a new CPU ?

I've never heard of a cpu becoming hotter because its "bad". A cpu is only bad if it does not function.

You want a better heatsink.. or better airflow if thats your situation.
